The Invacare Matrx Elite Backrest is a lightweight wheelchair backrest designed to provide postural support, comfort, and functional freedom for active manual and power wheelchair users. Designed with active lifestyles in mind, the Matrx Elite combines a breathable, lightweight shell with an oversized foam and cover design for added comfort and protection. Easy Set hardware allows precise adjustment of back height, depth, angle, and overall positioning, helping clinicians and providers achieve a secure, supportive fit within the wheelchair. The included removable lumbar positioning pad allows added lower-back support when needed.

Easy Set Hardware & Positioning

The Matrx Elite Back includes Easy Set hardware designed to simplify installation and adjustment. The hardware allows the backrest to be positioned for improved orientation within the wheelchair and can be adjusted while the user remains seated, helping make setup and fine-tuning more efficient.

This adjustability helps providers accommodate posture, wheelchair frame geometry, and daily functional needs.

Cover, Comfort & Lumbar Support

The Elite Back includes a moisture-resistant, breathable cover designed for everyday wheelchair use. The oversized foam and cover design overlaps the shell to improve comfort along the edges and add protection between the user and the back shell.

A removable lumbar positioning pad is included to provide adjustable lower-back support and help fine-tune seated posture.

Additional Positioning Options - Sold Separately

The Matrx Elite Back can be paired with optional lateral trunk supports to provide added midline stability, postural control, and upper-body support. Lateral supports are commonly used to help reduce leaning, improve alignment, and increase comfort for users who need more support than the backrest alone provides.

Available lateral support options include:

• Fixed Laterals: Provide stable, non-swing-away trunk support with vertical adjustment on the back shell
• Offset Fixed Laterals: Provide 3" of vertical pad placement adjustment and can be mounted higher or lower for customized support
• Swing-Away Laterals: Include a push-button swing-away release for easier transfers, dressing, and caregiver access
• Offset Swing-Away Laterals: Combine swing-away access with added vertical offset adjustment for higher or lower pad placement
• Lateral Support Pads: Available in multiple sizes for use with swing-away lateral hardware
